Phygital Dancing

Introducing Phygital Dancing
Phygital Dancing is a dynamic competitive discipline that unites digital gameplay with physical performance. Competitors replicate on-screen choreography while in-game algorithms evaluate their accuracy, style, and rhythm. Phygital Dancing blends cutting-edge technology with live performance.
Competition Format
Sixteen athletes are split into four groups of four. The groups are determined by a random draw. The group stage follows the GSL format without a fifth match. An athlete who wins two matches advances to the quarterfinals. The second and third place athletes in each group then play a third match against athletes from other groups. The winners of those matches secure their spots in the quarterfinals. The playoff stage uses a double-elimination format. Each match has two athletes competing against each other in a best-of-three rounds format.
Participants
Each participant is a phygital dancing athlete, who must be over 16 to take part.
Track Selection Process
Before each match, athletes are given a list of five randomly selected tracks from the official pool. A coin flip determines which athlete goes first in the track selection procedure. The selection process is as follows:
Bans: Each athlete chooses one track to ban, with the athlete who won the coin flip going first.
Picks and Order: Each athlete chooses one of the three remaining tracks to decide the order, with the coin flip winner choosing the first track, the other athlete chooses the second. The track not chosen by either athlete is then the third track to be used in the match.
How winner is decided
During the performance of each track, each athlete holds a Joy-Con in their hand. This tracks how accurate their performances are when copying the dance moves displayed on the screen, with points being scored for performing movements correctly. The person with the highest score wins that track. The match is won by the athlete who wins two tracks.
