21 Clubs, One Goal: To Qualify to GOTF2025 in Abu Dhabi this December
This Friday, the future of phygital football kicks off in Abu Dhabi. For the next five days (25-29 July), 21 elite phygital clubs from around the world will go head-to-head in Phygital Contenders: Abu Dhabi – Football, the official qualifier for the Games of the Future 2025, taking place this December in the UAE capital.
More than a traditional tournament, Phygital Contenders: Abu Dhabi - Football showcases a next-generation format that blends real-world athleticism with digital gameplay, challenging players to excel both on the pitch and in the virtual arena.
Over five adrenaline-charged days, clubs will battle for just six qualifying spots, with high energy, bold strategy and nonstop action expected as global phygital clubs fight to secure their place on the biggest stage in hybrid sport.
The action kicks off on 25 July with opening matches and group stage play. The momentum continues on 26 and 27 July with more group stage battles as clubs fight to advance. On 28 July, the top clubs will enter the quarterfinals, and everything comes to a head on 29 July with the semifinals and the final championship match.
Among the standout clubs competing in Phygital Contenders: Abu Dhabi, Football are CM JARDIM from Brazil, Navai from Uzbekistan, and OAA Esports from Oman. Each of these clubs earned their place through thrilling, hard-fought wins at their respective Phygital Rivals.
