Counter-Strike 2 named official Phygital Shooter game for GOTF 2026
The action is about to level up. Counter-Strike 2 has been confirmed as the official game for Phygital Shooter at the Games of the Future 2026 in Astana bringing one of the world’s most iconic shooters back to the global stage.
Fast, tactical, and relentlessly competitive, Counter-Strike 2 sits at the heart of a discipline that blends digital precision with real-world intensity in one of GOTF’s most explosive competitions.
Set to take place in August at Beeline Arena, the best Phygital Shooter teams will battle across the digital and physical live laser tag rounds for a share of a US$150,000 prize pool.
It’s a format that demands everything – sharp decision-making, teamwork, and the ability to switch instantly from digital gameplay to physical competition.
Fans who tuned in last year know what’s coming. Phygital Shooter at the Games of the Future 2025 delivered many high-stakes moments and edge-of-your-seat finishes, and this year promises more of the same.
Defending champions xGoat return, led by Major winner Mikhail “Dosia” Stolyarov, with Minsk House and Liga Pro Team back in contention and looking for revenge. They’ll be joined by new challengers Hybrids, Klan Pedrajas and MIRAGE Shooter, all ready to make their mark, with more names set to be revealed soon.
Phygital Shooter is one of eight disciplines at the Games of the Future 2026, taking place from 29 July–9 August in Astana. Across 12 days, the event will bring together more than 900 participants from over 50 countries, with over 100,000 fans expected to pack out arenas across the city, and millions more tuning in worldwide.
