100 days until Games of the Future comes to Astana

The countdown is on. In just 100 days the world will unite for the Games of the Future 2026 in Astana, Kazakhstan (29 July-9 August).

This summer, over 900 participants from more than 50 countries will compete across eight disciplines for the title of global phygital champions and a share of a prize fund worth over US$4 million.

With the countdown underway, here’s how GOTF 2026 is shaping up so far:

First teams locked in

While the full line-up for GOTF 2026 will only be locked in after Phygital Contenders (June 10-15), the road to the Games of the Future 2026 is already taking shape.

These are the top teams who’ve secured their spot in Astana as the top-ranked clubs from the 2025/2026 season:

Unlike in Phygital Dancing, Football and Basketball, Phygital Shooter athletes will not go through an additional qualifying stage at Phygital Contenders 2026 Astana, but will instead advance directly to face off at Games of the Future, giving us an early preview of the teams with further invitations and host city slots to be announced in the coming weeks.

Additionally, following their standout performances in Abu Dhabi, UAE fans will see the GOTF 2025 champions return to Astana to defend their titles:

  • Phygital Fighting: Kuznya
  • Phygital Dancing: Ivan Vlasov

A city-wide stage

Games of the Future 2026 will be held in venues across the city, transforming the capital into a dynamic competition stage. Tournaments will take place in four state-of-the-art locations, each chosen for its distinctive character and symbolic significance, creating an immersive, city-wide phygital experience.

The four iconic venues include:

  • The renowned Barys Arena, home to Kazakhstan's top ice hockey club.
  • The Beeline Arena, located at the heart of the city.
  • The Athletics Sports Complex "Qazaqstan"
  • Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov Martial Arts Palace named after Kazakhstan's local legend.

The Games of the Future will also form part of a wider cultural festival programme. Visitors can expect live concerts by international artists and other entertainment events taking place across the capital.

In the ultimate crossover, Comic Con Astana will be taking place that same week (5–9 August), creating a city-wide celebration of sport, gaming, and culture.
